Sudbury, June 4, 2008 — iLaugh.com, the broadband comedy portal of Sudbury-based March Entertainment, is kicking off the summer by launching its first-ever Video Scavenger Hunt.

With the tentative tagline, "Big Prizes, Bigger Laughs, But Even Bigger Prizes! (But Bigger Laughs)," the scavenger hunt will challenge wannabe filmmakers to complete a battery of bizarre, funny and outlandish tasks and capture them on video. Contestants will be awarded points for each task completed and uploaded to the iLaugh.com site, with bonus points available for the funniest entries for each task.

The individuals or teams that earn the most points will win valuable prizes or their equivalent value in cash. Some of the tasks include obtaining a hug or kiss from a police officer (500 points), working out at the YMCA in business clothes (800 points), or doing a live "Rickroll" (performance of Rick Astley's cheesy hit "Never Gonna Give You Up") in a public area (500 points + instant internet credibility). Sudbury-specific tasks include taking a shot of the Inco Superstack to make it look like the subject is smoking it, or busking on Durham St. with a Guitar Hero "guitar."

The best video scavengers can win several film-friendly prizes or their equivalent cash alternatives. Prizes include a HDD camcorder (or $750); a digital SLR camera (or $500); an iPod Touch (or $250); plus five cash prizes of $100 each.

The iLaugh.com Video Scavenger Hunt: Sudbury Edition aims to reward budding local talent while building a greater appreciation for Greater Sudbury. Videos will be seen by audiences worldwide and featured alongside the hours of hilarious Canadian content already on iLaugh.com, including clips from The Red Green Show, Chilly Beach and many others.
