March Entertainment Receives CMF Backing for Interactive Projects

Posted on Jul 07, 2011

The Canada Media Fund has announced its support for two innovative projects slated for production by March Entertainment. The projects were submitted in the first round of the CMF 2011-2012 Experimental Stream, which supports innovative Canadian interactive properties.

Among the projects listed for backing are VOCOMO (VOice COntent in MOtion), an advanced multimedia speech recognition system that uses cutting-edge audio technologies, XML and text-to-speech conversion to create a compelling audio content entertainment experience for people on the move.

VOCOMO will allow people to safely and conveniently access popular content brands while in transit, using just their voice. The service will launch with popular CBC Radio shows like Q and Word of the Week, eventually expanding into a variety of content partnerships to include language training, sports, comedy and lifestyle programming.

Another project to receive CMF investment is DanceMaker.ME, a multiplatform game and virtual choreography tool produced in partnership with Toronto's À la Carte Videos Inc.

DanceMaker.ME provides a fun and educational tool for dance enthusiasts to create, collaborate and publish dance routines using customizable 3D models and professionally performed moves. DanceMaker.ME will be available on a number of web-based and mobile platforms including the web, Apple iOS and Google Android. It is also perfectly suited to gaming consoles such as the Nintendo Wii.
